Biography
Her friends know her as “Za”, but her name in Arabic means “wisdom”. Of Ivorian origin, she arrived in Italy in 2009 from Abidjan - joining her family who had moved there in 2002 - and acquired citizenship in 2016. A basketball enthusiast, she discovered athletics at the age of 13 thanks to her PE teacher. At the 2016 European U18 Championships she missed the individual podium by a hundredth, but then contributed a fine 200m dash to the bronze medal in the mixed relay. She lives in Rubiera (Reggio Emilia), and since her first day on the field she has been coached by Loredana Riccardi. She also periodically trains in Rome with Giorgio Frinolli. Her passions include photography and dancing.
