Biography
She’s a girl who gets noticed both on and off the field: she was also Miss Quartu after half-jokingly trying out for the contest in 2016. Dalia played basketball, and then after a few months in athletics she came second in the 80 at the 2015 Student Championships. On her debut among the juniors, she took the Italian U18 record away from Vincenza Calì in 2017: 23.68 at the national competition in Rieti. In 2018 she had a successful run at the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, winning a silver medal with 23.45 to reclaim the best Italian junior performance and become the second best female Italian U20 athlete of all time. She set the national junior indoor 200 record in 2019 with 23.93 in Ancona, improved it in 2020 with 23.85, before also setting the outdoor record with 23.23. She studies languages at high school, lives in Quartu Sant'Elena, and trains in Cagliari.
