Biography

From San Cono, Catania, after his first school competitions at the age of 14, he was referred to the Valguarnera athletics club as a talent in the long jump. He then landed 7.56 at the Jesolo Italian Championships, the second best national performance ever for his category behind Andrew Howe. He won bronze at the European Junior Championships in 2015, but in 2016 he was held back by a muscle injury. In 2017 he won silver at the European U23 Championships. He grew up under the guidance of Carmelo Giarrizzo in the province of Enna, in the Valguarnera facility. In autumn 2018 he moved to Castelporziano to train with Andrea Matarazzo, but since autumn 2020 he has been back with his first coach. He is a football fan, and specifically a Juventus fan.
