Biography
Her parents are Nigerian and both played sports; her father was a judoka, and her mother a handball player. For six years she played tennis instead, before coming to the Sisport athletics facility in 2008. Her competitive career, coached at the beginning by Paolo Battaglino, has long been set on hurdles. She won an Italian junior title in 2011, and in 2013 she was second among students in the indoor 60 hurdles. In the weight and discus she has established herself as a national-level prospective competitor. She only obtained Italian citizenship in February 2014, when she came of age. Since January 2017, she has transferred to Angelo State University, Texas, with remarkable progress up to the best-performing U23 female Italian in the discus (57.49), an achievement which has finally been beaten after almost 39 years. She pushed this to 57.64 in the European Team Championships in Lille, on her debut in the overall national team, and then to 59.72 in 2018. In 2019, she became the second-best female Italian athlete of all time with 61.69 by winning at the Universiade in Naples.
