Biography

After starting out with swimming and basketball, he switched to athletics in 2009, primarily dedicating himself to hurdles. As a result, he reached the Italian podium as a junior in 2014. At the 2016 Student Championships he broke the previous record by almost two seconds in the 400 flat. In that year he won two titles at the European U18 Championships. He also starred in the 2017 European U20 Championships in Grosseto, where he took silver in the 400 hurdles and gold in the 4x400. In 2018, after a good start to the season, he was held back by an injury, but he then came back to win the under-20 world championship with the Italian team in the 4x400. In 2021 he continued growing with personal bests in the 400 metres (46.13) and especially in the 400 hurdles, improving by more than a second by running 49.25. A Neapolitan from Posillipo, he trains on the San Paolo track. He is pursuing a degree in management engineering after graduating from high school in sciences, but has also studied piano. His sister Sara played football, captain of the Naples’ women's team.
