Bettiol chose cycling and immediately believed in his own means: in 2011, he posted the junior continental title in time trial on the bulletin board, until he landed on the professional scene in 2014. Two years later, he finished third in the Tour of Poland, winning the points classification. He has earned many significant rankings, both in the classics and in stage races, representing an element of certain reliability and guaranteed performance. In 2019, he achieved great success in the Tour of Flanders after an 18-kilometre escape, enabling Italy to return to success 12 years after Alessandro Ballan.
