Biography

Martina is fulfilling her dream of participating in her first Olympic Games at the age of twenty, in which she is performing in Tokyo three days after the opening ceremony. Some injuries have delayed her explosive introduction, but the gymnast from Villasanta also proved invaluable as a reserve at the 2019 Stuttgart World Cup, in which the Italian women’s artistic gymnastics team won the qualification for Japan and the bronze medal. At the last European Championships in Basel, she mounted the podium in the free body final and achieved an excellent placement in the individual general competition, confirming her continuous technical growth. She started practising gymnastics at the age of five, with her tireless passion that led her to win gold in the vault at the junior European championship in Bern in 2016, following the previous years’ satisfaction of being standard-bearer for Italy at the EYOF in Tiblisi. She is the absolute Italian champion on the beam. In her bulletin board, she also has a team gold won at the 2018 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona.
