Biography
The 2007 Stuttgart World Champion has been reliving the glory of her youth in recent seasons. In 2019 she finished fourth in the world ranking. Prior to that, in August 2018, together with Matteo Trentin (winner of the men's race) she gave the Italians a historic double win at the European Championships in Glasgow. At the age of 10 she won several national titles in the youth categories and a world junior silver medal. Meanwhile, at the age of 20 she became the second Italian ever to win an elite title by crossing the finish line alone after a breakaway of 15 km. "Bastia", as her teammates call her, is a sprinter through and through and has two dreams in mind: opening a business for young cyclists and winning an Olympic gold medal. Now, at the age of 34, she has the opportunity to turn her dreams into a reality.
