Biography
At the age of 7, almost by mistake, he boarded a Tridente, a school boat of the Lega Navale Italiana in Ostia Lido, and it was love at first sight. He immediately moved up to the Optimist, where the young Roman discovered how much he liked to steer. This young boy, who wanted to be a Formula 1 driver, finally found his true purpose at the helm: feeling independent. In Ostia, he also met Giacomo Calabrò, who would later become his bowman a few years down the line. The Italian duo started off quietly and has since become increasingly well-established on the international scene, winning the call to enter the Italian Navy in 2016. What followed was a series of international podium placings, as they were awarded the Olympic qualification in Aarhus in August 2018 and the junior world championship title in 2019.
