Biography
He grew up in the small town of Mandello del Lario, in the province of Lecco, the same place that gave the world Giuseppe Moioli, who won the Olympic gold in London in 1948 in the coxless four and is Andrea’s inspiration. His whole family rowed and so he also gave it a go as a young boy - and the rest is history. The 23-year-old from Fiamme Gialle has already won prestigious medals, the most important of which came in 2018 with his success at the World Championships in the quad scull, 20 years after Italy last won it. A great deal of commitment, but it comes with the joy of doing what he loves best as his job and a future full of endless possibilities, starting with the journey to the Olympic Games.
