Biography

Born in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), she arrived in Italy in 2006 when she was 11 years old, joining her mother who had already moved to Verona. She began doing track & field two years later, thanks to the advice of a middle school teacher, who encouraged her to try this sport. A sprinter, she received her first call in 2014 as a backup relay runner in the European Team Games in Germany and the Zurich European Games. A “team” woman, she prefers running the relay, her favourite race, because thinking of running for the team gives her much more peace of mind than the individual race. From February 2017, she settled in Vicenza and trained with coach Umberto Pegoraro. At the Doha World Championships, she was the first runner in the relay which took a fantastic “hat trick”: finale, Olympic qualification and Italian record. In Tokyo, the goal is to repeat the performance and confirm her status among the elite of world championship track & field.
