Biography
2019 was the year of consecration for him: he became the first Italian to drop below 45” in the 400 metres and he set the current national distance record at 44”77, breaking the one previously set by teammate Matteo Galvan, both of whom are coached by Maria Chiara Milardi. At the Doha World Championships, he fell just short of the finale while, with his last run, he led the 4x400 metre relay to sixth place. Up to the age of 16, he was a skier like his sister Elena, and he also worked as a ski instructor, a passion inherited from his father Paolo. He is enrolled in university studying medicine to become an orthopaedist, and he hopes to continue working with athletes in the future as well.
