Biography
A Juventus fan, he played football until the age of 17, dominating as a right winger in the Novara youth team. However, unlike his teammate at Collegno, Gianluca Lapadula, formerly of AC Milan and Genoa, he decided to move on to the athletics track. In 2004 he started running in school competitions: with little training he managed to qualify in the 300m for the Italian cadet event where he appeared as an outsider, but won the title with the best Italian performance (35.39). As years went by, he became European Under 23 champion in 2011, together with the 4x100 Italian relay team, a result that he repeated two years later at the Mediterranean Games. He has already had two Olympic experiences in London and Rio, but in Tokyo he will stand alongside the other three members of the reigning champion team of the World Relays in Chorzow.
