Biography

She approached athletics with middle-distance running in 2004, but in 2007, after an injury, she switched to running under the guidance of Vittorio Zeni, showing great qualities. In 2014, she set Italian records in the 20 km and indoor 3,000 m and track 5,000 m (20:01.80, best world performance ever). In 2015, she broke twice the Italian record in the 20 km race, becoming the first Italian woman to break the one hour and 27 minutes barrier: 1h26:17. In 2016 she underwent knee surgery but came back stronger than before. In 2019, the debut in the 50 km race with victory and European record (4h04:50) and the first world championship medal in Doha, bronze in the 50 km race. She graduated with honours in Economics of Public Relations and International Institutions from the Bocconi University in Milan and completed a Master's degree at the Bicocca University with a thesis on the female role of managers in the future. She is romantically involved with another Italian march champion, Matteo Giupponi. She runs fast, on the track and in life. Dreaming of ever more ambitious goals.
