Biography

Vice-Olympic Champion in London 2012, the 33-year-old from Lombardy started fencing at the age of six years pushed by her mother to try this sport at the Fencing Club Monza. The left-handed champion has been at the top of the world for years, and in 2015 she went close to a historic "Triplete" winning the world championship bronze medal as reigning two-time champion. Married to her coach Luca Simoncelli, she manages to keep her sporting activity separate from her private life. Her decisive, quick and impulsive style, which often leads her to close the assaults quickly, earned her the nickname "TsunAry". She loves cooking and likes to relax on the couch with her dogs.
