Biography
Born in Texas and raised in Italy with athletics in his blood. He approached the sport by playing basketball and soon after he was conquered by soccer, which brought out his great skills as a sprinter. On the track of Desenzano del Garda he refined his talent, channelling it gradually into the long jump: in 2013, before a foot injury, he improved (7.75) a junior record that had stood since 1976. In 2016 he made the longest jump ever for an Italian with a windy 8.48 (+2.8), while in 2018 - after a knee problem - he returned as a sprinter. The professional synergy with Paolo Camossi made him fly. In 2019 he returned after two years competing in the long jump (8.05 indoors) and dropped to 10.03 in the 100 meters, the third Italian athlete of any era, before sealing the Italian record at the World Championships in Doha with the 4x100 relay (38.11). In 2021, he improved his personal best several times in the indoor 60 until his European triumph in Torun, with an Italian record of 6.47. Father of 3 children, he has a particular fondness for tattoos.
