Biography
Fausto, as his African name translates, was born and raised in Italy to a family of Nigerian origin. He became a citizen when he came of age in 2012. He initially played football but was almost immediately brought in by coach Contini to enhance his qualities as a sprinter. From hurdles to hurdle-free running, the step was quick. In 2016 he became the third Italian ever in the 200 metres, after Pietro Mennea and Andrew Howe, and in 2018 he updated the ranking and climbed it, thanks to 20.13 which now sees him alone behind the great Olympian. A metal music enthusiast, he has played drums in a band and is a lover of cinecomics and action films..
