Biography

After the medals in London and Rio, she might have seemed satisfied and instead, she arrived in Tokyo as a symbol of the new generation of "athlete mothers", capable of reconciling commitment, love and profession. With little Ettore, born in 2017, she returned to the platform after a two years pause with extra motivation and a fan. Last year she won her fifth individual European title, surpassing the Russian Deriglazova in the re-match of the Rio 2016 final in the finals, and she made the world championship podium in both team and individual competitions. Grown up in Enzo Triccoli's school and trained by Giovanna Trillini, she approached fencing when she was seven years old after practising dance as it was noted in the successful "Dancing under the stars" in 2013. Available and generous, in recent years, the Jesi woman has lent her face to numerous initiatives in defence of women and has opened her heart to the children of Kenya. On the platform, though, she will not give anyone a discount.
