Biography
The son of Alberto Tonut, a former European champion basketball player (Nantes 1983), Tonut grew up in the youth academy of Falconstar Monfalcone, a team with which he played in Italy´s B Amateur championship in 2010/2011. The following year he transferred to Pallacanestro Trieste, where he played the Legadue championship. In 2015 he signed with Reyer Venezia of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) basketball league and won two Scudetti (2016/2017 and 2018/2019). In 2020/2021 he was named MVP of the LBA´s Regular Season. In 2013, he won the Gold Medal at the European Under 20´s Championship in Tallinn, Estonia. In 2016, he missed out on qualifying for the Rio Games in Turin. But five years later, he´s keen to do well in Olympic Games.
