Biography
Sport was, from the beginning, the dominant feature of his life. He started with judo and then moved on to swimming and tennis, borrowing the passion from his brother Jacopo. In 2013, he started his professional career. In 2017 he made his debut on the ATP circuit, and the following year he won his first title in Gstaad, also gaining success in doubles. In 2019, his first Davis Cup appearance, then another ATP triumph in Budapest and access to the semi-finals of the US Open: a crescendo of results that allowed him to reach the eighth position in the ranking, the 4th Italian in the Open era to achieve this feat after Panatta, Barazzutti and Fognini. Passionate about football and basketball, he is a Fiorentina fan, and his idols include James Le Bron. He dreams of becoming a biologist and working with animals.
