Biography
D’Alie's great-grandparents emigrated from Southern Italy to Wisconsin and their surname, D'Elia, was incorrectly transcribed as D'Alie upon entering the United States. Her family was known in Waterford as 'The Big Italian Family': the family that spoke with gestures and gathered to eat grandma’s pasta. She is the second youngest of six children. Like her brothers, she inherited the passion for the sport from her father Anthony, 'The Italian Bomber', with his past as a boxer. She preferred basketball and, leaving the basket hanging in front of the garage, crossed the ocean in reverse to bring the 3x3 national team to the top of the world in 2018. Three years later, it was her own basket that awarded Italy its participation in the Olympics in Tokyo 2020. She has a degree in sociology and very devoted to Jesus. She is one point six metres of class and pure instinct. She is small, but dreams big.
