Biography
Stateff discovered triathlon at the age of 7, thanks to his older brother Theodor, after having also practised swimming. Papa Sevar, born in Italy to a Bulgarian family who emigrated after the Second World War, passed on to him his passion for sport, as a former handball player and sailor. The natural inclination for the spirit of sacrifice led him to reap consensus and successes: after some international podiums at a youth level, it was he who gained, in 2018, in Cagliari, the first, historic Italian victory in the World Cup, over the distance sprint.
