Biography
A massive physique, 208 centimetres tall and shoe size 53, the 26-year-old native of Tuscany is considered the “kind giant” of the Italian national team. He is an opposite hitter, like Zaytsev. However, just like the Italian men's national volleyball team skipper, he started off as a setter until he discovered his true vocation one day when he was called to replace an injured team-mate as striker. Born in Lucca, he loves the good dishes of his native land where three years ago he married Florinda, whom he met in Trento when he played for Trentino Volley. He won two World Championships bronze medals and one European Championships gold medal with the junior National Team. He has been with the senior National Team since 2015. Serve is one of his most lethal weapons. When not playing, he enjoys fishing for relax and carefree time.
