Biography

A specialist of the 200m freestyle, he got the first call-up to the national team in 2015, and the following year, he made his debut at a European Championship in London. His first international medal came with the 4x200m freestyle relay at the 2018 European Championships in Glasgow where, with the fastest finishing time, he led his companions to claim bronze. At the Gwangju World Championships 2019, he managed to improve on the historic Italian record of Emiliano Brembilla in the 200m freestyle that had been unbeaten since Rome 2009, and in the final, he finished only 4 hundredths of a second away from the podium. A path of growth that reveals all the ambitions of the Tuscan lad who is studying Business Economics to be able to take over the management of the family publishing company in the future.
