Biography
His name came to the fore after the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing 2014, where he won three medals and was honoured as the best European athlete. Today, he is the Italian record holder of the 100m backstroke, and he won a European bronze in this distance in 2016. Originally from Emilia-Romagna, from 2017 he chose to move to Verona to undertake a new path in the group of Matteo Giunta and Federica Pellegrini, from who he says he has learned never to give up, even in training. In Rio 2016, he could not give his best due to an intestinal virus that undermined his performance. Five years later, he has all the motivation and the desire to make up for it.
