He qualified for the Olympics by breaking the Italian record for the 100m backstroke (52.84 at the Assoluti di Riccione). Now the versatile swimmer from Vicenza, who trains in Verona in the same pool as Federica Pellegrini, is looking for a breakthrough. He put on a show at the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympics, winning no fewer than five medals, the Olympic qualification from the 50m freestyle being among them. He will be twenty when he goes to Tokyo, where he will be definitively ordained amongst the 'greats'.
