Biography
At 13, he moved to Italy where he grew discovering his talent for volleyball too. He acquired the Italian citizenship in 2015 and won a bronze medal at the European Championships with the Italian National Team. He made his Olympics debut at the 2016 Rio Games. Son to a former volleyballer, by clinching the silver medal at the Olympic Games he matched his father Yaroslav's feat at the 1988 Seoul Games with the Russian National Team. Today, his father is a volleyball coach, just like his uncle Oleg. He was a starter in the team that successfully bid for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics qualifier tournament in Bari. He's ready use his spiking prowess to earn himself a place in the Japan-bound team. His wife Laura and his two little daughters will be waiting for him at home.
