Biography
Speed is a family affair. The cousin of former Italian giant slalom skier Florian Eisath, the South Tyrolean from Ega also used the alpine ski slopes until she was 18 years old, participating in several Italian Championships in her category. After trying tennis, football and swimming, she switched to the athletics track. Under the guidance of Hans Pircher, she immediately showed her aptitude for the 400m, with a second place on the Italian podium as a student in 2013. She has never worn the Italian youth’s jersey, but she rose to prominence in 2018 at the Italian Athletics Championships where she dropped below 54 seconds for the first time, placing fourth. Held back by a micro-fracture in the spring of 2019, she came close to a podium finish in the national indoor event the following season. A scientific high-school graduate, she is very close to adding a medical degree from Innsbruck University to her collection.
