The family is originally from Sudan but with Italy in their destiny. Her parents moved to Italy, first to Casertano and then to Modena when she was two years old. Athletics has been her world since 2006, and in 2011, after proving her worth as a student at the World Championships (semi-finalist on the floor), she moved to London for two years before returning to Italy. Since June 2015, she has been training in Rome at the Army's sports centre. In 2018, she improved to 52.98 indoors (sixth Italian ever) after achieved the national record for the 4x400 at the World Championships indoor and 52.38 outdoors. At the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow in 2019, she set a personal best 52.48 with a 5th place finish in the 400, winning the bronze medal with the 4x400 relay. She is a sports sciences student; however, she also attended the art institute, maintaining her passion for drawing and photography.
