Biography
Since her father Rimas was basketball player while her mother Rosa played volleyball, her brother joined basketball while she opted for volleyball. A native of Lithuania, she came to Italy at 14 to join topflight volleyball where she debuted in the B2 division. She acquired the Italian citizenship in 2013 renouncing the Lithuanian one as required by the law and was immediately called to the Italian National Team. Japan is part of her destiny: not only did she make her debut with the Italian National Team against the Japanese (“What a feeling, I was moved when I heard the Italian National Anthem”), but she also played in Japan for one season. Her Olympic Games debut had to be in Tokyo 2020.
