Biography
Her parents, both from Ghana, met in Naples in 1985, although she was born and raised in the province of Verona. At first, she was not thinking about track & field. In fact, volleyball was her first love. In the end, she followed the advice of one of her physical education teachers. Gloria made her début in the senior National team at the 2012 Helsinki European Games, gaining access to the semi-finals straight away. As a child, she was considered an “earthquake” because she would never be still, so much that her parents looked for the “off” switch on her for years. And so, a bit because of her temperament and a bit in a constant effort to improve herself, in late 2014, she moved to Florida, under the guidance of American coach Loren Seagrave, and then in October 2017 she moved to England, where she rejoined the rest of the family, and then to Canterbury under coach June Plews. Enrolled in University to study Nutritional Science, she would like to become a nutrition specialist in the future and open her own restaurant. The race she is focused on in Tokyo is the 4x100 relay, a speciality in which she contributed to establishing the new national record at the Doha World Championships.
