Biography
Olympic bronze in Rio 2016 in the coxless four, he then moved to the coxless pair with his long-time companion and friend Giuseppe Vicino. Having been together since their days in the junior categories, in their first year as a pair on the new boat they have given us quite a show, winning the gold at both the European and the World Championships. Rowing successes seem to run in the family: the 25-year-old from Terracina is actually the cousin of Alessio Sartori, whose career includes an impressive gold, silver and bronze from the Sydney 2000 and London 2012 Olympics. An injury kept him out of competitions for several months, but on his return to the water he immediately managed to qualify for Tokyo 2020, where the 2020 European bronze medalist intends to expand his collection of successes.
